How we put this guide together
On October 14, 2026 we read Sakura Box's website (sakurabox.com): the homepage, six product pages, the shipping information page, the Our Story page and the refund policy. We checked prices and stock for shoppers in the US (in US dollars) and the UK (in pounds). We also searched for independent reviews. Nobody on our team has tasted a Sakura Box yet, so this is a buyer's guide, not a hands-on review, and it carries no star rating from us.
Who Sakura Box is
Sakura Box is run by Japan2oz, a small family company in Japan. According to its Our Story page, founder Adam and his wife Yoriko started Japan2oz in 2012, launched Sakura Box in 2018 and opened the current website in 2020. A team of local moms in Osaka picks and packs the boxes. The big difference from many Japanese snack brands: there is no subscription. You buy a single box when you want one. Every dagashi box comes with an English leaflet that lists the snacks and their ingredients, which helps with allergies. On October 14, 2026 the homepage showed an average of 4.8 out of 5 stars from its latest customer reviews; we could not find a separate Trustpilot page for sakurabox.com.
One naming note: Sakura Box is not the same company as Sakuraco, a Japanese snack subscription. Check the website address before you order.
The 6 picks
1. 30 Piece Dagashi Box
Photo: Sakura Box
The best-selling box and the easiest place to start. The Spring/Summer 2026 assortment holds 30 individual treats: cookies and wafers, chocolate and candy, gummies, ramune and fizzy sweets, rice crackers and corn snacks, plus an English information booklet. Price on October 14, 2026: $29.97 in the US (list $35.97), with 2-box ($49.97) and 5-box ($99.97) options, or £24.97 in the UK. Suits: a first try or a small gift. Drawback: the mix changes by season, and a snack that runs out may be swapped for a similar one.
2. 50 Piece Dagashi Box
Photo: Sakura Box
The largest dagashi assortment: 50 snacks and candies with the same mix of sweet and savory treats and the English booklet. Price on October 14, 2026: $49.97 in the US (list $52.97) or £40.97 in the UK. Suits: families, offices and bigger gifts. Drawback: at about $1 per snack it costs more per piece than the 2-pack of 30-piece boxes ($49.97 for 60 snacks).
3. 30 Piece Vegetarian/Halal Friendly Dagashi Box
Photo: Sakura Box
Every item in this set is listed as vegetarian and halal friendly, and the product page names all 30, from Tohato Caramel Corn and Alfort chocolate cookies to Bisco, Jagariko and mini bottle ramune. Price on October 14, 2026: $30.97 in the US (list $35.97) or £24.97 in the UK. Suits: vegetarian or halal households who want to know exactly what is inside. Drawback: Sakura Box notes some items may change slightly or be unavailable at times.
4. Okashi Share Pack 30 Piece
Photo: Sakura Box
Built for two or three people to share: mini packets of non-melting chocolate, biscuits, ramune, candy, jelly, mochi, rice crackers, gummies and premium green teas. Price on October 14, 2026: $42.97 in the US (list $45.97) or £40.00 in the UK. Suits: couples or roommates who want a sampler with tea. Drawback: it costs more than the 30-piece dagashi box for the same snack count.
5. Shimi Corn Chocolate Bars 15 Pack Gift Box
Photo: Sakura Box
A single-snack gift box: 15 chocolate-coated corn puff bars that, as the brand puts it, you can eat without sticky hands. The product page says they have added calcium and use non-GMO corn. Price on October 14, 2026: $22.97 in the US or £22.00 in the UK. Suits: chocolate fans and a budget gift. Drawback: one flavor only, so it does not give the variety of a dagashi box.
6. Puku Puku Tai Wafer Chocolate Taiyaki 10 Pack Box
Photo: Sakura Box
Ten individually wrapped taiyaki, the fish-shaped Japanese wafer, filled with light aerated chocolate. The label carries English ingredients, nutrition and allergen information. Price on October 14, 2026: $35.97 in the US or £34.00 in the UK. Suits: anyone who already loves taiyaki or wants a fun office treat. Drawback: $3.60 per wafer is pricey next to the mixed boxes.

What buyers and reviewers say
- Sakura Box's own site: the homepage showed 4.8 out of 5 stars from its latest customer reviews on October 14, 2026.
- Independent reviews: we could not find a Trustpilot page or press review for sakurabox.com. Most reviews you will find online are for Sakuraco, a different company.
- Resellers: we saw Sakura Box listings on eBay. Buying from the brand's own site is the safest way to get the current season's box.
How it compares
- Snack subscriptions (Sakuraco, Bokksu, TokyoTreat): a new box every month and often extras, but you have to manage a subscription.
- Asian grocery stores and Amazon: cheaper per snack, but you pick everything yourself and labels may be in Japanese only.
- Sakura Box: a one-time, curated box with an English guide, at a fixed price per box.
Shipping & returns
US: Sakura Box ships US orders from Amazon warehouses in the US when local stock is available. Standard shipping is free (2 to 5 business days after 1 to 2 days of handling), expedited costs $3 and priority next-day costs $7. UPS will not deliver to PO boxes. Sakura Box says it has suspended shipping to the US from its head office in Japan because of high tariff fees.
UK: some orders may ship from Japan. Duties, taxes or import charges may apply, and the checkout shows the current services and prices in GBP.
Returns: the store has a 30-day return policy, but food and other perishable goods cannot be returned, and neither can sale items. If something arrives damaged, defective or wrong, contact support right away (support@japan2oz.com for returns, support@sakurabox.com for shipping questions).
Who it suits / who should skip
Sakura Box suits gift buyers who want a ready-made box of Japanese snacks with an English guide and no subscription, vegetarian or halal households (thanks to the dedicated box), and US shoppers who want free standard shipping from a US warehouse. Skip it if you want a new box every month, if you want to choose every snack yourself, or if you are in the UK and do not want to risk import charges.
