How we put this guide together
We haven't ordered from Nekocos, so this isn't a hands-on review and we don't give it a star rating. Everything below comes from Nekocos's own site (nekocos.com): its product catalog, six individual product pages, and its Shipping, Refund, Terms of Service and Contact pages, all checked on September 21, 2026. We also looked for independent buyer reviews on Trustpilot and two website-trust checkers the same day.
What Nekocos sells
Nekocos sells cosplay outfits (costumes that recreate a character from an anime, game or virtual singer) plus the wigs and shoes to finish the look. On September 21, 2026 its catalog listed 2,271 items: 1,897 costumes, 181 wigs and 190 pairs of shoes. The biggest ranges are characters from Honkai (168 listings), Genshin Impact (151), Identity V (134) and Hatsune Miku (27), alongside original "gothic" and Halloween-style designs.
One thing to know up front: nothing on the site says these costumes are officially licensed. Treat them as fan-made outfits of popular characters, not official merchandise.
Two kinds of listing: "In Stock" vs "Custom-Tailor"
This is the most important thing to check before you buy, because it decides when your costume arrives. Every product title ends in one of two labels:
- In Stock (883 listings): the product page says orders typically take 7–10 business days to process before shipping.
- Custom-Tailor (1,190 listings): made after you order. The pages we checked said 45 business days of processing, and one Hatsune Miku sailor-uniform listing said 120 business days.
Shipping time is added on top. Nekocos lists three options: Express at 3–7 business days, Commercial at 7–15, and ePacket/China Post at 15–40 (Shipping Policy, checked Sep 21, 2026).
We also found a mismatch worth flagging. The Shipping Policy page says orders are "processed and shipped within 1-3 business days," but every product page we checked gives a longer processing time (7–10, 45 or 120 business days). We'd plan around the longer number on the product page.
Also, don't trust the web address to tell you which kind you're getting. One listing whose URL contains "in-stock" is labeled Custom-Tailor on the page itself, with a 45-business-day processing time. Always read the "Stock Status" line on the product page.
Will it arrive by Halloween?
For a Custom-Tailor costume ordered in late September: no. Forty-five business days of processing alone runs past October 31.
For an In Stock costume, the site's own worst-case numbers are 10 business days of processing plus 7 days of Express shipping, or about 17 business days in total. If you need it for Halloween, order an In Stock piece with Express shipping by early October and treat that as a close call, not a guarantee. Nekocos's shipping policy itself warns that holiday peaks can add delays.
What it costs
Prices on the six costumes we checked (Sep 21, 2026):
| Costume | Type | Price |
|---|---|---|
| Rabbit Hole | In Stock | $51.99–$67.99 |
| Gothic (in-stock listing) | In Stock | $46.99–$60.99 |
| Vocaloid Hatsune Miku / Kasane Teto, Premium Edition | In Stock (6 of 8 sizes available) | $117.99–$154.99 |
| Identity V "Candy Night Dancer" | Custom-Tailor, 45 business days | $85.99–$97.99 |
| Hatsune Miku sailor-style uniform | Custom-Tailor, 120 business days | $80.99–$97.99 |
| Gothic (second listing) | Custom-Tailor, 45 business days | $41.99–$55.99 |
Across the whole catalog, the median starting price of a listing was about $91. Wigs are much cheaper, with a median of about $17. The range depends on size and options. Every product shows a higher crossed-out "regular" price (for example $168.56 against $117.99 on the Miku/Teto set). We can't confirm those regular prices were ever charged, so read them as marketing, not as a verified saving. Shipping is charged by weight and shown at checkout. We didn't place an order, so we can't quote a shipping fee.
What buyers say
There isn't much independent feedback to go on yet. Nekocos has no Trustpilot page (checked Sep 21, 2026). Product pages carry reviews through Judge.me, a review app the store itself installs, so those aren't a neutral source. Two automated website-trust checkers disagree: ScamDoc gave nekocos.com a 25% trust score, while Scamadviser rated it legitimate. The store's catalog goes back only to March 2025.
How it compares
Miccostumes is a longer-running cosplay store with a Trustpilot page to check: 4.0 out of 5 from 558 reviews (Sep 21, 2026). Its most common complaints there are costumes running tight in the chest and slow international shipping. That's the same kind of risk you take with any made-in-China cosplay shop, Nekocos included. The difference is that with Miccostumes you can read hundreds of past buyers first, and with Nekocos you currently can't.
Cancellations, returns and who runs the store
- Cancel within 24 hours: full refund.
- After 24 hours, before production starts: Nekocos may charge a cancellation fee of up to 20% of the item price.
- Once a Custom-Tailor costume is in production: no cancellation, change or refund, except for manufacturing defects, damage or a wrong item.
- Returns: the written policy sets out a 14-day return right for EU buyers and says the customer pays return shipping unless the item is faulty. It doesn't spell out a separate return window for US buyers.
The store is run by FOUNTAINHEADX LIMITED, a company registered in Hong Kong, and its terms are governed by Hong Kong law. Contact is through a Gmail address and a +86 (mainland China) phone number.
Using the code
Nekocos advertises two Halloween codes on its homepage. We tried both at checkout on September 21, 2026, on a $51.99 In Stock costume with a US shipping address:
- The 15% off sitewide code worked: $7.79 off, bringing the item to $44.20 before shipping, with no minimum order at that total.
- The 10% off code in the scrolling top banner was rejected ("Enter a valid discount code").
- With a non-US country selected, even the 15% code was rejected, so check it with your own address.
Tap "Get code" on the ticket to see the working code, then paste it into the discount box at checkout. Nekocos doesn't publish an end date, though the homepage runs a countdown, so it may not last past the Halloween sale.
Who it suits
Nekocos makes sense if you want a detailed costume for a specific anime or game character, you're buying for a convention or photoshoot at least two to three months away, or you're picking an In Stock piece early enough to allow for shipping. It isn't the right shop if you need a costume for this Halloween and are looking at Custom-Tailor listings, if you want officially licensed merchandise, or if you want plenty of independent reviews before you pay.
