How we put this guide together
On October 13, 2026 we read Elegear's website (elegear.com): its homepage, six product pages, and its shipping, refund and terms pages. We also read the store's Trustpilot page, Reviewed.com's 2022 test of the Elegear cooling blanket, and later reviews from Gear Diary (2026) and The Gadgeteer (2022). Nobody on our team has slept under Elegear bedding yet, so this is a buyer's guide, not a hands-on review, and it has no star rating from us.
What Elegear sells
Elegear sells cooling bedding for people who sleep hot: lightweight blankets, comforters, pillowcases, sheets and bundles made with a Japanese cooling fabric it calls Arc-Chill. The brand rates its newest fabric at a Q-Max above 0.5. Q-Max measures how fast a fabric pulls heat from your skin when you first touch it; for reference, The Gadgeteer lists cotton at 0 and silk at 0.2. On October 13, 2026 the first page of Elegear's catalog had 139 products with a median price of $35.99. The homepage says its cooling blanket won the 2025 Good Housekeeping Bedding Award, and a TODAY segment on the 2025 awards listed it among the winners.
The 6 products
1. Elegear Orchid Cooling Blanket (Arc-Chill 3.0)
Photo: Elegear
A two-sided blanket: one side is Arc-Chill 3.0 cooling fabric, the other is Egyptian cotton for nights that are not so warm. It is light enough for the sofa, travel or camping as well as the bed, and it is machine washable. Price on October 13, 2026: from $29.99, in stock in several sizes. It suits hot sleepers who use a sheet or a light cover. Drawback: it cools only on contact; it will not replace air conditioning in a heatwave.
2. Elegear Light Brown Cooling Blanket (Arc-Chill 3.0)
Photo: Elegear
The same reversible Arc-Chill 3.0 blanket in a light brown color, with the cotton reverse side. Price: from $29.99 on October 13, 2026, in stock. It suits bedrooms with warm, neutral colors. Drawback: reviewers say the silky cooling side is slippery, so the blanket can slide off the bed during the night.
3. Revolutionary Blue Cooling Pillowcases, Set of 2 (Arc-Chill Pro)
Photo: Elegear
Two pillowcases with a cooling side rated at a Q-Max around 0.45 and a soft cotton side, closed with a hidden zipper. Elegear also says the smooth surface reduces static and hair frizz. Price: from $18.99 on October 13, 2026, in stock. It suits people whose face and neck feel hot on the pillow. Drawback: this older Arc-Chill Pro fabric is rated lower than the Q-Max above 0.5 of the newer pillowcases below.
4. Elegear Arc-Chill Cooling Pillowcases, 2-Pack (Q-Max above 0.5)
Photo: Elegear
The newer pillowcases, made with Arc-Chill 3.0 fabric (Q-Max above 0.5) and OEKO-TEX STANDARD 100 certified materials. They stretch to fit standard, queen, king and memory foam pillows and close with a hidden zipper. Price: from $19.99 on October 13, 2026, in stock. They suit hot sleepers with sensitive skin. Drawback: at only $1 more than the older set, there is little reason to choose the Pro version, so check which fabric you are ordering.
5. Ultimate Cooling Sleep Bundle: 3D Comforter + Arc-Chill Pro Pillowcases
Photo: Elegear
A cooling comforter with a fluffy DACRON fill and a Q-Max 0.5 cooling side, plus two Arc-Chill Pro pillowcases. Both are machine washable. Price: from $109.99 on October 13, 2026, in stock in several sizes. It suits people who sleep in air-conditioned rooms and want a full comforter, not just a thin blanket. Drawback: it is the most expensive pick here, and a comforter with fill holds more warmth than the thin blankets.
6. The Fitted Sheet Set (3 pieces)
Photo: Elegear
One fitted sheet and two matching pillowcases in brushed microfiber with a twill weave, in several colors and sizes. Price: from $28.99 on October 13, 2026, in stock. It suits anyone who needs a simple, soft sheet set to go under a cooling blanket. Drawback: the product page does not describe this set as cooling, and brushed microfiber is made to feel cozy, so do not buy it to sleep cooler.

What buyers say
- Reviewed.com (Sara Tabin, June 22, 2022): the blanket felt cooler than a regular blanket, but not cooler than sleeping with no cover at all. Cons listed: a plastic smell, sizes that run small and a steep price. No temperature measurements were taken.
- Gear Diary (July 20, 2026): 4 out of 5. Well made, easy to wash and effective for someone who sleeps hot under a light cover; the slippery cooling fabric lets it slide around at night, and the reviewer would have liked something more substantial.
- The Gadgeteer (August 14, 2022): the reviewer started skeptical and found the cooling side felt almost like touching cool metal; the blanket is machine washable but not dryer safe.
- Trustpilot (read October 13, 2026): only one review, rated 1 star (July 2026). The buyer received a smaller blanket than the size ordered and was offered a small store credit. One review is not enough to judge the store, but it matches Reviewed's note that sizes run small.
- The store's own claims: Elegear says it has more than 10,000 happy customers and that the blanket won Good Housekeeping Bedding Awards. We could not open Good Housekeeping's own award page, so treat the award years as the brand's claim.
How it compares
- Other Arc-Chill or Q-Max cooling blankets on big marketplaces: similar fabric and often similar prices; compare the Q-Max rating and the exact size before you buy.
- Breathable cotton percale or linen sheets: do not feel cold on contact, but stay comfortable all night and are easy to wash and dry; good if a slippery fabric bothers you.
- Active bed-cooling systems: they actually lower the bed's temperature and suit people with strong night sweats, but cost far more and need power.
Shipping & returns
Elegear ships within the US for $8.50, free on orders over $69. Orders take 1 to 3 business days to process and 5 to 15 business days to arrive, and the store does not ship to Alaska, Hawaii, Puerto Rico, Guam or APO/FPO addresses. You get a tracking number by email.
You have 30 days after delivery to ask for a return. Items must be unused, with tags and original packaging, and you must contact the store first for a return label. Sale items and gift cards cannot be returned. Elegear pays return shipping only if it sent the wrong or a defective item. Approved refunds go back to your original payment method within 10 business days. The site also lists a 1-year warranty and 24/7 email support.
Who it suits / who should skip
Elegear suits hot sleepers who sleep under a sheet or a light cover and want something that feels cool when they get into bed. Skip it if you expect a blanket to cool a hot room on its own, if a slippery fabric that slides off the bed will annoy you, or if you need to tumble-dry everything.
